Rustic Linen Slipcovers

My favorite fabric is 100% linen and I was so happy to work with a customer who loves linen as much as I do.  She is comfortable with the casual washed linen look.  I pre-washed the linen and did not iron it before making the slipcovers.  These parsons' chair slipcovers are absolutely gorgeous!
In the far background, you can see my customers dining room chair slipcovers I made several years ago and they still look great!  I used a linen/cotton blend for those chairs.

We chose to only use kick pleats in the back of the slipcovers.  I like the clean look in the front.
Here is a close up of the rustic linen after being washed.

The desk chair is fastened with ties around the front legs under the skirt.  The ties will help secure the front of the slipcover from shifting.

While on vacation in Florida last week, I was very excited to stop by the Vintage Soul Store at 1118 New York Ave, St Cloud, Florida.  I have been following her on Facebook for a couple years.  The store was beautiful and the owner,  Debbie Mangual was so sweet.  It was 101 degrees that day and she mentioned that the best time to visit is October thru May.   Below are a some pictures to give you a sampling of the pretty items she sells which include some cute slipcovered chairs.  If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by.  It will be worth it and there are several other boutiques and antique shops along New York Ave.

Defeat the Dark Side with Slipcovers

The new Star Wars movie starts today and I couldn't resist. LOL

My customer was looking for slipcovers to lighten the look of her dark dining table.  The linen/cotton fabric was the perfect solution.  She also wanted to eliminate the look of the attached back cushion.  The solution was to make a seperate undergarment.  The result is a smooth back concealing the attached cushion. The new slipcovers lends a lighter feeling to the kitchen area.
Here is a picture of the original kitchen table.

Pretty Parsons Chair Slipcovers

Here are pictures of some cute parsons chair slipcovers I just delivered.  In the first picture you can see the old and new slipcovers side by side.  She loved the box pleated skirt and wanted to keep the same style.

Here is a picture with all the new slipcovers around the table.

Florida Parsons Chair Slipcovers

These are a couple pictures my customer sent of her parsons chair slipcovers.  My customer lives in Florida and I made the slipcovers from measurements alone. She chose this beautiful bold red patterned fabric.  She used the leftover fabric to cover some lampshades in the room.

The fabric pattern is Ozborne in color lipstick from Premier Prints.
I pre-washed the fabric using Woolite and on a gentle cycle.

This is an example of how I ask the customer for measurements.

White Ruffly Linen Slipcovers - Chic Unique

Wow! I have a lot of pictures to share with you in this post. First I have added pictures of the white ruffly linen slipcovers I made for the Antique and Art on the Square show in Elyria, OH. If you would like more information and directions to the show Saturday, June 2 click on the Chic Unique link.

I delivered four slipcovered parsons chairs to Chic Unique for the show and I have around 20 more available. The slipcovered chairs are priced at $169.00 each. If you buy four or more then the price is $160.00 each.  This is a great deal - you pay for the slipcover and get the chair for free.  You can contact me if you are interested in the slipcovered chairs and are not able to make it to the show.

When I dropped off the slipcovers at Chic Unique, Carrin invited me to her house to photograph a pair of parson chair slipcovers I made for her awhile ago. I was in for a great surprise.  Carrin lives in a beautiful ( I would call it a victorian style) home.  Her home is beautifully decorated.  Carrin has great taste and that is what makes Chic Unique so popular.

Here are a couple photos of the linen parson chairs I made for Carrin.

This is a shot of the whole room where the parson's are located.  This room blew me away.  I loved all the white upholstery and soft furnishings.
