Butter Pat Pleats

This is the second set of slipcovers I have made for these chairs.  The first set I made were done in a Potterybarn striped fabric around 10 years ago.  This new set is done in a 100% white cotton and finished with butter pat knife pleats along the bottom.  They are called butter pat pleats because each pleat is the size of a pat of butter.  I am in love with the fresh new look!

And of course I could not write this blog post without mentioning the
Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 World Champions. As you all know I am from Cleveland, OH and you all have heard all the Cleveland jokes.  Well, no more jokes, we are the NBA World Champions.

Rustic Linen Slipcovers

My favorite fabric is 100% linen and I was so happy to work with a customer who loves linen as much as I do.  She is comfortable with the casual washed linen look.  I pre-washed the linen and did not iron it before making the slipcovers.  These parsons' chair slipcovers are absolutely gorgeous!
In the far background, you can see my customers dining room chair slipcovers I made several years ago and they still look great!  I used a linen/cotton blend for those chairs.

We chose to only use kick pleats in the back of the slipcovers.  I like the clean look in the front.
Here is a close up of the rustic linen after being washed.

A slipcover for a desk chair done in the same 100% rustic linen fabric with a fun box pleat skirt.
The desk chair is fastened with ties around the front legs under the skirt.  The ties will help secure the front of the slipcover from shifting.

While on vacation in Florida last week, I was very excited to stop by the Vintage Soul Store at 1118 New York Ave, St Cloud, Florida.  I have been following her on Facebook for a couple years.  The store was beautiful and the owner,  Debbie Mangual was so sweet.  It was 101 degrees that day and she mentioned that the best time to visit is October thru May.   Below are a some pictures to give you a sampling of the pretty items she sells which include some cute slipcovered chairs.  If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by.  It will be worth it and there are several other boutiques and antique shops along New York Ave.

Brown Leather to Blue Cotton: Slipcover Over Leather

Here is a perfect example of a slipcover done over a leather sofa.  This sofa was the perfect candidate for a slipcover.  The cushions were all loose and in great condition. The slipcover really brightens the living room.  The royal blue was chosen from the color in the rug and the side chair (not pictured).

My customer has the two cutest Great Dane's, Evie and Elsie.  I recommended the pet cover for convenient frequent cleanings.  Pictures and explanation of pet cover are shown below.

Leather sofa before the slipcover

This is Elsie posing on the ottoman. Sorry your ear is flipped inside out in the picture.  I hate when that happens. LOL

Here is Evie sitting on the sofa.  I had to get this picture.  She was too cute.

A picture of the pet cover over the seat cushions and arm covers over the arms.
The pet cover simply goes over the seat cushions and the T-cushions tuck inside the ends.   This is so much more convenient for pet owners.  No need to unzip and remove cushion covers for washing.  Simply pull off the 1 piece pet cover from the T-cushion ends and throw in washer.  Company is coming over and no time to wash the slipcover?  Just remove the pet cover to reveal clean cushions underneath.

Here is an example from another customer showing how the pet cover looks underneath the cushions.

Sectional Slipcover

My customers sectional was in need of an update.  It had faded over time. The back cushions were originally attached to the sofa and she chose to have them removed and slipcovered individually.    The cushions were in great shape and the sectional looks brand new. I made sure that the pattern was matched and would flow over the two piece sectional.

Damask Chair Slipcovers

The slipcovers for this pair of chairs is a beautiful cotton damask in white and dark gray.  I took the time to match the pattern on each chair and to make sure the pair were identical twins. The chairs look beautiful in their new slipcovers. Now my customer has a beautiful seating area in her loft which will be the perfect spot to relax and read a book.
