Pet Friendly Striped Slipcover

The internet is amazing!  My customer's sister is from Texas and found me online to make her sister a slipcover in the Cleveland area.   She was helping her sister decorate her new house and knew she wanted to slipcover her dark sofa for a lighter and fresher look.  She had sent me a picture of a slipcover she had had made and that would be the inspiration for the new slipcover.  Well, I think we hit the nail on the head.  Take a look.

***My customer has two dogs and if you have pets then you will definitely want to see the pet cover I made for this sofa.  Pictures are at the end of this post.

 Here is the inspiration picture from her sister's house in Texas. 

Here is my customer's living room after her sister finished decorating.  I love the pictures above the sofa, the natural rug, lamps and chairs.  Simply beautiful!  I love her decorating style.

Can you see the pet cover in the picture above?  I will show you more at the end of this post. 

 This sofa is from Lazy Boy Furniture.  The seat cushions had become worn on one side and had a dip in the cushions.   She called them and they sent her new seat cushion inserts. You can tell from the previous picture how much thicker the new cushions are in this picture.

Pet Cover Pictures

Here starts the section of my post that shows the type of pet cover I offer.  The pet cover will protect the seat cushions only.  My customer also ordered arm covers.  When her dogs get the pet cover dirty it is much easier to only have to wash the pet cover. She can simply remove the pet cover when expecting company. Voila! Clean cushions.

 This picture shows the pet cover on the seat cushions.  You can barely tell it is there.  

 Here is a picture of how it looks under the cushions.  This design helps keep the pet cover in place.

Fresh New Look with Slipcovers

I love a good before and after picture and I have some great ones in this post.  This will show you how you can breathe new life into your old furniture.  I love the transformation of my customers living room with her new slipcovers and pillows.  The floral pillow was our inspiration and guide for colors.  We pulled the background color out for the sofa fabric and my customer fell in love with a natural linen fabric.  The sofa slipcover was finished a couple months ago and then my customer placed a slipcover order for the camel back loveseat, ottoman, cushion and several pillows done in the linen fabric. The first picture shows the living room in disarray ready for us to start staging. 

I love all the windows in this room!

In this picture you can see the before look of the ottoman and the camel back loveseat.  The ottoman received a layer of dacron to cover the deep tufting.

We replaced the two worn seat cushions with one new plump seat cushion.  This changed the whole look and feel of the loveseat.

 Then we added the pillows.  What a beautiful transformation!! My customer has a beautiful collection of pillows. Here is the new ottoman slipcover.

The sofa table was a new purchase that fits perfect behind the loveseat.

Office Chair Slipcover with an Artistic Flair

This beautiful office chair slipcover was commissioned by the talented artist Kathy Johnson of  Studio by the Sound.  The fabric choice is very fitting for an artist, done in a gorgeous watercolor print. Kathy Johnson's studio is in Seattle, WA. She has a blog Art and Nest an Etsy shop and she even offers watercolor classes.  You can find more information on her website.

A Coffee Sack and Classic White Slipcovers

My customer has a large collection of coffee sacks and wanted to use one for her ottoman slipcover. I was so happy when the coffee sack design fit perfect to the top of the ottoman.  She also chose a white denim for her wing chair, 2 parsons chairs and 6 bar stool slipcovers.  Most of these slipcovers were done for her keeping room.  I had never heard of a keeping room before this year and now I have made slipcovers for two of them.

I was in love with my customers home at the consultation visit.  She has a great eye for decorating. My customers home is decorated so beautifully that her real estate agent wanted to showcase her home during the open house in her new development.

The ottoman slipcover was kept clean and simple.  I lined the coffee sack to stabilize it for the top of the ottoman.  Instead of cording, all the seams were top stitched. The sides of the ottoman were made from drop cloth fabric.

Shabby Chic Texas Style in the Office

I was contacted by a customer who wanted 9 office chair slipcovers for her construction business in Houston, TX.  She sent me a couple of pictures of her office described as vintage shabby chic style.  I love the recycled wood on the far wall with splashes of aqua paint and chandeliers galore.  I would love to work in this office space.  

My customer wanted the large bow closure on the back of 7 office chair slipcovers and a metal clasp closure on the back of 2 slipcovers.  The two with metal clasp closures were for the men in the office.

This floral slipcover with the ruffled skirt was for the owner.  I absolutely love this fabric. It fits in perfectly with her shabby chic style

The floral fabric is from Moda 3 Sisters- Seaside Rose Ballet and the contrast was a coordinating solid pink cotton
