French Grain Sacks and Knife Pleats Galore

My latest slipcovers were for my customer's keeping room.  She chose a beautiful pre-washed linen/cotton blend fabric that was a dream to work with.   I met with my customer and my friend/designer Carrin Andress of Chic Unique.  If you follow my blog then you already know how much I love Carrin. She has impeccable taste and helped with the design choices and details for the slipcovers. All the slipcovers were finished with knife pleated skirts and we also added knife pleated trim to the sofa pillows.  All new down pillow inserts were ordered and they look amazing.

Carrin commissioned Jenni of the Vintage Songbird to make the custom grain sacks.  Carrin has worked with Jenni in the past and knew she did amazing work.  I am in love with all the printed french grain sacks Jenni designed.  The family has a passion for fine wine, beer, chocolate and cheese. The grain sacks are vintage french labels printed on drop cloth fabric- the three lumbar pillows were of a chocolate label, wine label and a beer label.   A vintage cheese label on top of the ottoman was my favorite.  I finished the ottoman slipcover in the matching drop cloth fabric.  What a great way to add your personal touch to your home.

You can follow the Vintage Songbird and Chic Unique on facebook.

I was very happy to be introduced to Jenni of Vintage Songbird and I would love to work with her in the future. So, If you would love to add the vintage grain sack look for pillows or slipcovers then give us a call.

Here is a closeup of the linen/cotton blend fabric.

My customer is going to be painting her island black in the near future and we thought these cute knife pleated slipcovers done in the same linen/cotton blend fabric would help the bar stools stand out against the black paint.

There are 2 great shows coming in May

You will be able to find Chic Unique and many other amazing vendors at the Rural Society Antique and Garden Show on May 1-2.  I missed the show last year and I definitely do not want to miss it this year.  I hope to see you there!

Also, you will be able to find The Vintage Songbird at the French Hen Farm Spring Barn Sale on May 8-9. Vintage Songbird offers a whole lot more than what I have highlighted.  She has great furniture pieces and home decor.
