Floral Couture Office Chair Slipcover

Author Bonnie ZoBell recently converted her garage into a new office and added a little pizzazz with some wonderful Cozy Cottage Office Chair Slipcovers. Free download The Whack-Job Girls, her first book, here.

I am so glad Bonnie sent me pictures of her newly decorated office.  I love the way the fabric on the office chair slipcovers pull all the colors of the room together. The fabric is Floral Couture in color Mandarin from  the Amy Butler Lark Collection.

Coffee Sack Slipcover

 Burlap slipcovers?
Yes! You can add a burlap coffee sack to your slipcover. Pinterest is loaded with ideas on using burlap coffee sacks. Everything was pre-washed- burlap, coffee sack and the solid cotton fabric.  There are many helpful links on-line on how to pre-wash and sew burlap and burlap coffee sacks. Here is a great blog post- www.ellaclaireinspired.com .  This slipcover will need to be dry clean only.
All burlap and coffee sack pieces were lined with a cotton muslin.

Every part of the chair that would touch your skin is covered in the soft cotton fabric.

The customer did not want to use cording so everything was top stitched.

These are a couple of coffee sack slipcovers I found on Pinterest.  These are both made of a softer fabric than the one I used.

Winged Settee and Ottoman Slipcover

I love this winged settee and ottoman.  It is a perfect cozy spot to snuggle up and read a book.  The fabric used in this slipcover is a linen/cotton blend in color Maize.  We added a short skirt with corner kick pleats.

White Slipcovers in the Dining Room

I love the look of the two slipcovered chairs at the end of a table.  My customer chose the 100% cotton linen-look fabric for her custom slipcovers.  We finished them off with a mini knife pleated skirt.

I love the look of the white slipcovers against all the dark wood.

Butterfly Office Chair Slipcover

This style office chair is more difficult to offer long distance from measurments.  If the chair was purchased recently or is still available in stores such as Staples or Office Max then I can fit the slipcover in the store on the actual chair.  As you can tell from the pictures this slipcover was fitted at Staples.  I have permission from the manager and I go early in the morning.

The customer chose Amy Butler Alchemy Line of fabrics- pattern: Queenann's Butterflies and a pink pattern for the contrast fabric.
This customer also chose to have matching arm covers made.

Racing Stripe Slipcover

This chair was definitely a challenge because of three things. The wood trim, curved back and attached seat cushion. I was unable to pre-wash the racing stripe fabric because of fear of fading the printed racing stripe. This chair will need to be dry cleaned. The fabric is Bark Racing Stripe from Serena and Lily. The solid white on the rest of the chair is an organic cotton canvas. There are two of these slipcovered chairs going to my customers lake cottage. My customer will be sending me pictures of both chairs slipcovered in the cottage, Regretfully she will not be able to take the pictures for a while because of construction. These pictures were taken in my workroom.

The chair is the Catania chair from Arhaus furniture.

My customer purchased a Bark racing stripe pillow.
This chair from Serena and Lily was the inspiration for the slipcover.

Curvy Sofa

My latest slipcover had a lot of curves and I loved the shapely cushions.  The existing cushions had lost their shape and were not comfortable any more.  We made new foam inserts and they have given the sofa a new life.

She chose the knife pleat skirt and I love how the skirt looks on this sofa.
 Here is the before picture

My customer has a big beautiful home and this sofa is on the third floor.  Whew!  I was huffing and puffing when i finally reached the third floor.

White slipcovers are my favorite but it was a nice change to work with a different color. The fabric is a brushed denim in color: graphite.
I am now booked through the holidays and am now taking orders for the new year.

Slipcover with a Slip

My customer's wing chair had a strong blue design on a white background and she wanted to have a white slipcover made.  The blue design was showing through the slipcover fabric so I made an undergarment to go under the slipcover.  The undergarment helped to cover the upholstery fabric.

Here is a before picture of the chair

Much better with the undergarment- After with white slipcover done in a brushed white canvas

Mini Knife Pleat Skirt

Here are the after pictures of the wing chairs I spoke about in the last post. My customer chose the cute mini knife pleated skirt. The chairs looked beautiful in the new slipcovers.
I delivered in the evening and the pictures have a yellow glow.  I really need to take a photography class soon!

I took this picture with the flash on.

Here is the before picture again.

This is the view from the front door.  You can see the back of the chair with the cute skirt and cute little feet.

My customer had the cutest and sweetest kids.  These are two of the many beautiful drawings they gave me.
